Window XP FTW =)
Generally 64 bit is better than 32 bit, while considering both have proper drivers, etc. I’m not going to go into detail but just go with the 64 bit.
My biggest problem with windows vista was the non-compatibility with video games. They ran fine on XP but not on vista. Will windows 7 have the same problem?
Have you tried running them in XP compatibility mode?
Great video!
your vista is slowed down my vista take 6 seconds to load and about 14 to get to the desktop
its true
Great video, im just wondering what antivirus and spyware protection would be good from preventing windows 7 from getting corrupt and getting all that hastle on your computer, i hear kaperski is good, do you have any ideas?
well if you have windows vista you can alway use windows defender
NOD32 and Malwarebytes
Im thinking of upgrading from vista x64 to windows 7 x64 because i think it will be faster
W7 is really nice
Actually, this video is a bit misleading. Seeing this, one might think, so why bother installing W7 for just a marginal performance increase? But W7 also has a lot of feature improvements, like the SuperBar, HomeGroups, & making UAC a LOT less annoying. Finally, you don’t *need* to have 1GB RAM, it runs just fine even on a 512MB machine. The RAM “usage” you see is just the cache & you shouldn’t count it – W7 will give it up if any other app requires the memory. Remember, idle RAM is wasted RAM.
Unless you deal a lot with pirated software, you don’t *need* an AV, provided:
1) Use a Limited User account
2) Use Firefox + Adblock + NoScript OR Opera with urlfilter.ini OR Google Chrome with Ad Muncher
If you can’t do the above, then just use the free Microsoft Security Essentials.
@dextersgenius, thats why you should watch my other Windows 7 videos Part 1,2,3,4,5 so you can see everything you just mentioned.
The real question is: how does Windows 7 relate to Vista on an average system? Most people won’t have 4gb or the other specs from the test PC. Vista is horrible on a 2gb machine (first hand experience), so I’m wondering how Windows 7 will do on such a PC. Also people have reported Windows 7 running fine on a P1610 which is a weak 1gb nettop.
@Ronnet , watch my recent video on the Kingston DDR3 2GB Kit I tested on Windows 7. It outperformed 4GB Kits in some tests. And boy was the 2GB enough and fast on Windows 7 for sure.
im counting down to October 22
is that when it comes out?
i have it already (the real official version), it was given to all the students in this one class at my school.
i like it, its much better then the beta
Do.
yeah that’s the date
why do I always here people that they have the “official version” How do you get it?
a teacher at my school bought it and asked Microsoft if he share it with all his students. microsoft seid yes and im in his class so i got it. genuine windows 7
I run the Trial Enterprise version of 7 on my Dell Mini Netbook, 400MB of RAM & 1-2% CPU usage while doing nothing. I have 1GB of memory and a 1.33Ghz Intel Atom. My computer now runs much smoother, boots and responds in half the time as the XP it came pre-installed with! Also, NO driver installations needed, 7 found it all!
Get XP!!!
There’s no “official version” There’s the RC, and then the RTM, followed by the Retail on Oct 22. Software wise, the RTM version is exactly the same as the Retail version, but the Retail one will be packaged in a pretty box, will probably have a manual and stuff.
You should list them under “Video Responses” then… or some place.. atleast make a mention of it!
